Acoustic service, maintenance and support

Looking after acoustic equipment after it is installed: scheduled inspection of seals and door hardware, spare parts, re-verification after alteration, and refurbishment of existing test facilities and their data systems.

Seals fail long before structure does. A door whose performance has drifted downwards is normally fixed by replacing seals and adjusting hinges, not by replacing the leaf.
A scheduled inspection is there to hold the designed performance, not to repair something that has already failed. Booking one before a production shutdown is cheaper than an emergency call-out during one.
Replacement parts should be genuine or original-manufacturer items. Substituted seals and hinges that are close but not correct are the most common reason a repaired door still fails its check.
Test chambers and acoustic rooms should be re-measured after any alteration, to confirm they still meet the criterion of the test method being used in them.
Automatic data acquisition systems scale from a handful of channels to more than 1000, and the manufacturer states scan rates from 10 Hz up to several kHz depending on channel count and hardware.
Refurbishing an existing test facility is usually better value than building a new one, where the structure and the vibration isolation are still sound and what has aged is the wedges, the seals and the control system.

What can be handled locally and what has to be coordinated with the original manufacturer is not the same in every case.
